The bid opening for the construction of the 19.1km Itungwa-Mgboko-Amaise-Amairi-Ahiaba Ubi-Nkwoelechi-Omoba pilot rural road in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State was completed today, (Tuesday, 26th March 2024) at the Abia State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Abia RAAMP) office in Umuahia, the State Capital.
In his opening remarks at the event, Project Coordinator Engr. Chinemere Ogbonnaya welcomed all bidders, expressing joy over the progress made by Abia RAAMP. He commended Governor Dr. Alex Otti for his unwavering support, particularly for the consistent and prompt payment of counterpart funds.
The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Supervisory Ministry of Abia RAAMP, Mrs. Ngozi Felix, represented by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Ogechi Becky Oguama, stated that the bidding process was transparent, smooth, and timely. She added that the pilot road would soon be awarded.
Construction companies present at the bid opening event included Geld Construction LTD, Niger Construction LTD, Fax Construction LTD, UYK Nigeria LTD, and IAC Allied Tech Company LTD, among others.
